Focal length
1250 mm
This is the whole point of a Maksutov. Getting 1250 mm from a 377 mm tube is achieved by folding the light path with mirrors, and the result is high magnification with modest eyepieces: a 10 mm eyepiece gives 125x here where it would give 48x in a small refractor. The same number is why deep-sky objects will not fit in the field.
Aperture
90 mm
Aperture decides how faint you can see, and 90 millimetres is modest. The Moon, the planets, double stars and the brightest globular clusters all look good. Faint galaxies and nebulae mostly do not appear at all, because the light simply is not being collected. Buy this knowing what it is for.
Focal ratio
f/13.9
A slow focal ratio means a narrow field and a dim image for extended objects, and a long exposure requirement if you try photography. For planets, where the object is small and bright, none of that matters and the long focal length is pure benefit. This single number explains both what the telescope is excellent at and what it cannot do.
Optical design
Maksutov-Cassegrain
A thick corrector lens at the front and two mirrors inside give a long focal length in a short sealed tube. Sealed means the optics stay clean and never need collimating, which is why these survive being carried around. The trade is a central obstruction that slightly softens contrast next to a refractor, and a long cooldown because that thick corrector holds heat.
Weight

This is the specification that makes the telescope interesting. Most instruments with 1250 mm of focal length weigh five kilograms or more and demand a substantial mount. Under a kilogram and a half, this rides on a photo tripod head or a small star tracker, so the total cost and bulk of a working setup stay genuinely small.
Cooldown
20 to 30 minutes
The thick front corrector stores heat, and while it is releasing it the moving air inside the tube blurs the image. Take the telescope outside half an hour before you intend to observe. Skipping this step is the most common reason a new Maksutov owner concludes the optics are poor when they are not.
