What These Numbers Mean

Three inches of aperture, which is modest light grasp. It shows the Moon in fine detail, Jupiter's belts and moons, Saturn's rings and the brighter clusters, but faint galaxies and nebulae are beyond it.

Long for an 80 mm, which is what makes the views so clean: a slow refractor of this length has very little colour error to correct. It gives 80x with a 10 mm eyepiece, well suited to the Moon and planets.
